NEWS RELEASE

On April 5, 2008 at approximately 1045 hrs, Prichard Police responded to USA Hospital Regarding one shot.  When Police arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim, a 51 year old B/M Horace Moffett, with a single gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. The victim stated that he was assaulted by a Black male with a baseball bat, driving a full size Dodge white Pick up. He was accompanied by a black female, 29 years of age, who goes by the name of Nina James. She allegedly shot the suspect one time with a small handgun. It was reported that the incident was over twenty dollars. Horace Moffett is listed in stable condition. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detective Nye at 251-331-2327.

In another unrelated incident that happen on April 5, 2008 at around 9pm, Prichard Police responded to USA Medical Center regarding one shot. This black male subject was an 18 year old, name Chad Singleton, he had a single gunshot to his left forearm. He was unable to give a description of the suspect. Anyone with information is ask to call Detective Nye at 251-331-2327
