PRICHARD ANNOUNCES CITIZENS ACADEMY  2008

The Prichard Police Department is proud to announce its first Citizen Academy for 2008. The first class is schedule to begin on March 18, 2008. As we all know crime fighting is a daunting task, however, with the help of citizens of Prichard, this task can be accomplished by working together.

Prichard’s Police Department has developed an academy curriculum that is similar to that of the State Police Academy. Selected citizens of Prichard will embark upon a 10-week course that will teach topics ranging from report writing to forensics.

This academy is designed to build better and safer communities, and this can only occur when the partnership is established. The Chief of Police and his Staff encourage all citizens who have obtained their 21st birthday to apply. Twenty-five citizens will be chosen to participate in this distinguished academy. Everyone selected will undergo an extensive background check before participating in the academy.

If you are interested, please contact Chief Pat Mitchell at 251. 452.7907 between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday. Deadline for submitting applications will be March 17, 2008.
