City of Prichard Comprehensive Plan

In April of 2006, the City embarked upon the city’s first ever Comprehensive planning process. This initiative provided the city with a prioritized plan to assist with the implementation of its vision for the future.

The purpose of the City of Prichard Comprehensive Plan is to provide a clear vision of the kind of place that Prichard’s residents, businesses and institutions would like it to be in the future and provide a course of action that strengthens the process of building the community envisioned. The main function of the plan is to guide the many decisions and actions that will shape the community.

Prepared with the involvement of community leaders, stakeholders and the general public, the Comprehensive Land Use Plan includes the community’s vision for the future, identification of key issues and opportunities to be addressed during the planning period, and an implementation program for achieving the vision and addressing the identified issues and opportunities. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan is intended to foster local pride about the future of the community, thereby encouraging citizens to ensure that the plan is implemented.
