CITIZEN ACADEMY

All phases of policing are covered in the program. Participants are presented a full outlook of police work, including patrol duties; community oriented policing, crime scene investigation, major crimes, youth investigations, narcotics/vice and more. It is a hands-on program that runs for 10 on Wednesday evenings. Weekend field trips in the past have included a ride-along with a uniformed officer, instruction and live fire at the Police Pistol Range, investigation of a simulated crime scene, Metro Jail, and other sites.
