The Prichard Animal Shelter and Banfield Pet Hospital have begun a partnership through Banfield’s Pet Adoption Rewards Program. This program helps pets receive quality preventive care before they are adopted and encourages continued preventive care after they are placed with a family. What does this mean? Well, as a partner, the Animal Shelter will receive free office visits and discounts for pre-adoption pet healthcare. Plus, for every adopted pet the shelter refers to Banfield, they will receive a $20 veterinary care voucher. This will help ensure that every pet in the shelter is healthy for adoption.

Upon adoption, a new pet owner, will receive a packet from Banfield with the following helpful discounts:

- A $30 certificate which can be applied toward an Optimum Wellness Plan enrollment or can be used toward other services received during thee pet’s first visit to Banfield. Each certificate (one per adopted pet) can be used at the first visit only and they expire 30 days after the adoption date.
- A free first treatment of FirstShield flea control for cats or FirstShield Trio flea/tick control for dogs, which is applied during the pet’s first Banfield visit.
- Information about proper preventive care.
- Special offers from PetSmart, Royal Canin, and Greenies.
