Mission: The City of Prichard's Community Development Department vision strives to achieve a future community of quality development, protected natural resoures, vital business activity, and livable, walkable neighborhoods. With proactive and collaborative planning, we can effectively shape the City's future and the citizen's quality of life.
Armed with this vision, the Community Development Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life of Prichard's citizens through proactive planning that involves all stakeholders in a consensus building process and ensures that all new development reflects the community's vision. Our team focus is to ensure community values are reflected in the physical environment; promote a sense of community that is compatible with the unique character of the Prichard community; provide support to the community by interpreting and implementing the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance as adopted by the City Council and provide coordinated guidance and regulation of the growth and development of the Prichard community.
